PULMONER EMBOLİ
PULMONARY EMBOLI
It is a condition that usually occurs when clots from the veins of the legs occlude the pulmonary arteries and / or their branches and can be fatal. Apart from the clot, air – fat – parasite – tumor cells – amniotic fluid and foreign bodies can also cause it. Despite treatment, recurrence may occur in up to ¼ of the cases.
It should be considered in people with complaints such as unexplained shortness of breath, chest pain, swelling in the leg, redness, and pain.
In these patients, the d-dimer test, which is usually checked in the blood, is high. Anticoagulant drugs are used in the treatment.
Pregnant women - those who have undergone hip fracture surgery - those who use birth control pills - those who are sedentary for a long time, cancer patients and the obese are the main risk groups.
